Invisalign Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Invisalign cost?
Invisalign regular fee is $6,000 for the complete treatment including trays replacement. However, the cost of Invisalign will vary from doctor to doctor, depending on the treatment that's needed, and is generally comparable to the cost of traditional braces.

Does insurance cover Invisalign?
If you have orthodontic coverage, Invisalign should be covered to the same extent as conventional braces. But we recommend that you review your coverage, as each policy is different. We do provide with a complementary insurance claim form completed for you to send it out to your insurance company.

Does Invisalign really work?
Yes. Dentists have been using invisible orthodontics to straighten teeth for decades. Several hundreds of thousands of patients have been successfully treated with invisible orthodontic technology.

How does Invisalign work?
Invisalign uses proprietary technology to produce aligners customized for each patient's teeth. The patient wears one set of aligners for three weeks and then moves to another set if necessary. By the end of treatment, the teeth have will have moved from an untreated to a treated, beautiful smile.

What are the benefits of Invisalign?
Invisalign has a number of important benefits:

  • Invisalign aligners are so clear, they're almost invisible. So no one will know you're straightening your teeth, unless you tell them.
  • Invisalign 's customized aligners are more comfortable than other forms of orthodontic treatment. There are no wires to tighten and no braces to scrape against the inside of your mouth.
  • Invisalign is removable, so you can floss and brush your teeth normally during treatment.
  • Invisalign aligners are more hygienic. Invisalign aligners are easy to maintain and clean during treatment.

How does Invisalign move teeth?
Invisalign uses clear, polymer aligners to move teeth in small increments. Each aligner is designed to apply controlled force on the patient's teeth. The specific teeth to be moved and the amount of movement will depend on the patient, and will be determined by the treating doctor.

What are Invisalign aligners made of?
Invisalign aligners are made of clear, medical grade polymers. The aligners are so clear, it's likely that no one will be able to tell you're wearing them, unless you tell them.

What do the aligners look like?
Aligners are clear, polymer appliances that are almost completely transparent. Some patients have commented that aligners look similar to tooth whitening trays, others think of them as "contact lenses for your teeth".

Is Invisalign the same as invisible braces or clear braces?
The Invisalign system is a series of clear, removable, plastic aligners. Because the aligners are clear, Invisalign is sometimes referred to as invisible braces or clear braces. With Invisalign, there are no fixed orthodontic appliances.

How long has Invisalign been on the market?
The technology behind invisible orthodontics has been on the market for decades. Invisalign has developed an advanced system of invisible orthodontics that has unique aesthetic and hygienic benefits. Many orthodontists and dentists consider the Invisalign product to be the next generation in invisible orthodontics.

How old is Invisalign 's technology?
The concept behind Invisalign dates back to 1945 when it was first envisioned that a series of tooth positioners could achieve the same movements that most people thought were only achievable with metal braces. With Invisalign, this is now possible.

How do I get started with Invisalign?
To get started with Invisalign, simply make an appointment with a dentist who's certified to use Invisalign.

Where is Invisalign available?
Invisalign is available through certified dentists across the U.S and Canada.

Can I be treated with Invisalign by any dentist?
Any orthodontist or dentist who's been certified to treat with invisible orthodontics can treat you with Invisalign. Over ten thousand U.S. orthodontists and dentists are certified.
